will my concrete countertop/vanity crack?

It is possible to get a hairline fracture (micro crack, a very fine surface crack that's about the size of a hair) or crack in the concrete. Overall, our concrete countertops, sinks and pieces DO NOT fracture over time as a result of the specialty proprietary blended concrete mixes and the process through which we create our pieces. But we never say never, as a small hairline fracture could happen for a variety of reasons. This can especially true for outdoor conditions.
Concrete around fireplaces are also more susceptible to fracturing especially in the winter months in northern climates with wide temperature extremes. As well in warmer climates with constant exposure to high direct sun. Micro cracking as well  is not structural and would not compromise the integrity or functionality of your piece as well if it were to occur.

how do I clean a countertop/vanity?

Your concrete countertops and pieces can be easily cleaned using mild soap & water. We recommend Dawn dish soap. Simply clean your tops by wiping with non abrasive sponge or micro fiber rag using the soap and water mixture and dry with a clean micro fiber rag. You can also use All Purpose Pledge if you desire a slight sheen on your tops.

We do not recommend cleaning your countertops with anything containing ammonia, citric acid, vinegar, bleach, abrasive chemicals or concentrated essential oils. Using harsh or abrasive chemicals, as well as citric acids can damage the sealer resulting in staining.

Will my concrete countertops/sink or table stain?

While concrete is an organic and porous material, our pieces are not susceptible to staining with proper care due to our premium sealer. All our concrete pieces go through a rigorous 8 step sealing process using a super premium food safe water based concrete sealer. This makes our concrete countertops and pieces incredibly stain, water & scratch resistance. Certain acidic foods and liquids such as lemons, mustard, vinegar, wine and coffee can stain your countertop. Fragranced chemicals and cleaning products containing vinegar, citric acids, bleach as well as rust from cast iron pans can erode the sealer and stain the concrete. Therefore, We recommend that you clean as you go.

We have tested our sealer with many different products and we have found that diligence is the best protection for your countertops. Cleaning up food and beverage spills right away, helps to minimize the risk that these items might permanently stain your countertops.
